Walt Disney Concert Hall
Arguably the most beautiful concert hall ever built, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the four complexes in the Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County. Long Beach Pyramid
The pyramid is one of mankind's most admired forms. But Long Beach State's unique sports arena - The Walter Pyramid of Long Beach - is one of only three true pyramids in the United States. It measures 345 feet on each side. Its cobalt-blue exterior is a Long Beach landmark and at a height of 18 stories (192 feet), can be widely seen from most points on campus. Dimic Steel Tech fabricated all interior steel components for the pyramid. This is the largest free-standing, unsupported pyramid structure in the world.
As one of the world’s most recognizable venues, Staples Center in Los Angeles is home to the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Sparks sports teams. In addition to the impressive schedule of sports and entertainment events, STAPLES Center continues to distinguish itself as the host of high-profile events of national and international distinction. All exposed steel structures in the arena’s four main lobbies were fabricated by Dimic Steel Tech.

Metal Fabrication is a value added process that involves the construction of component pieces for machines and structures from various raw materials.
As the first sheet metal fabrication company in California to utilize this technology, Dimic Steel Tech is a leader in laser cutting. In laser cutting, quality is measured by part accuracy and edge condition. The advanced features of DST’s laser cutting equipment along with the experienced employees of DST provide customers the assurance of the highest quality parts. One of the advantages of laser cutting over mechanical cutting is reduced contamination of the work piece.
A process that is used to cut steel and other metals of different thicknesses using a plasma torch. In this process, an inert gas (or in some units, compressed air) is blown at high speed out of a nozzle. At the same time, an electrical arc is formed through that gas from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of that gas to plasma. The plasma is sufficiently hot to melt the metal being cut and moves sufficiently fast to blow molten metal away from the cut.
The automation of machine tools that are operated by programmed commands as opposed to being manually controlled. The first machines were built in the 1940’s and ‘50s. These early machines were rapidly augmented with analog and digital computers, creating the modern computed numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools that have revolutionized the manufacturing process.
Punching in metalworking is the process of using a punch press to push a punch through the material and into a die to create a hole in the work piece. A scrap slug from the hole is deposited into the die in the process. Depending on the material being punched this slug may be recycled and reused or discarded. Punching is often the cheapest method for creating holes in sheet metal in medium to high production.
Also known as die cutting. It is a metalworking process which cuts stock without the formation of chips or the use of burning or melting. Strictly speaking, if the cutting blades are straight the process is called shearing; if the cutting blades are curved then they are shearing-type operations. The most commonly sheared materials are in the form of sheet metal or plates. However rods can also be sheared. Shearing-type operations include: blanking, piercing, roll slitting, and trimming.
A process used to modify metal or a work piece by deforming the object; that is, without removing any material. Forming is done with heat and pressure, or with mechanical force, or both. There are a variety of ways to form metal.
The most common way to cut material is by sawing. There are special band saws designed for cutting metal that have hardened blades and a feed mechanism for even cutting. Abrasive cut-off saws, also known as chop saws, are similar to miter saws but with a steel cutting abrasive disk.
A continuous bending operation in which a long strip of metal is passed through consecutive sets of rolls, or stands, each performing only an incremental part of the bend, until the desired cross-section profile is obtained. Roll forming is ideal for producing parts with long lengths or in large quantities. Roll formed parts are generally much lighter and stronger than extrusions of a similar shape..
Milling is the complex shaping of metal or other materials by removing material to form the final shape. It is generally done on a milling machine, a power-driven machine that in its basic form consists of a milling cutter that rotates about the spindle axis and a worktable that can move in multiple directions.
Designed for precisely machining relatively hard materials. These rigid machine tools remove material from a rotating work piece via the movements of various cutting tools, such as tool bits and drill bits. CNC lathes are rapidly replacing the older production lathes due to their ease of setting and operation. They are designed to use modern carbide tooling and fully utilize modern processes.
Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials by causing coalescence. This is often done by melting the work pieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material (the weld pool) that cools to become a strong joint, with pressure sometimes used in conjunction with heat to produce the weld.
